At The Secret Garden of Dance, we believe there’s a better way to teach. Where a student is offered insightful and constructive feedback and their lessons are always personalised. We’re obsessively passionate about it, and our mission is to help our students achieve their goals.
Don’t worry – we’re not only drill sergeants, we do love to make our classes fun and light-hearted and we have a wonderful social community that’s inviting and friendly.

COMPLIMENTARY LESSON
The first step is to book in a complimentary and obligation-free consultation. You’ll be looked after by one of our highly trained and friendly teachers, who will inform you of all the additional services we have to offer.
Each couple is different, so it’s important for us to discuss your specific ideas in detail and learn about what you’re both hoping to achieve. This will help us determine which style of dance and choreography will best suit you.
During this free one hour dance lesson, we’ll also teach you some basic steps to your choice of song, which will help you get a sense of what your dance could look and feel like.
Finally to finish your consultation, we can give you feedback and advice with regards to pricing, packages, how many lessons you may require and to make a booking if you wish.

We took lessons in preparation for our wedding for both our First Dance and my Father-Daughter Dance. We cannot recommend this school highly enough!!! Sanushka is absolutely amazing, he is highly skilled teacher who is able to adapt his teaching to all levels of dance, who has excellent communication skills and his classes were truly enoyable. He offered excellent ideas and suggestions for choreography and music, helping us to work our what we did and didn't want. We had the best time at all of our lessons, and our dances were just incredible - everything we could have hoped for! We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

With no previous dance experience, I was determined to learn Michael Jackson's Dangerous performance. Sanu's passion for teaching (and MJ) allowed me to exceed my initial expectations (see our video on youtube). Sanu and Caroline's commitment and passion for dance fosters a warm environment for their students to realize their potential. I highly recommend Secret Garden of Dance for those who want try something new, those who are fans of MJ or Afro-Cuban/Salsa.

March 19, 2021Over the past four or five years, I've attended many workshops hosted by Sanushka and his professional team of instructors. Every single time I've come away as a better dancer. He's given me new ways of moving to and thinking about the music. Sadly, I live too far away for weekly lessons because they'd certainly be worth it. The instructors at this school by far have helped me grow my understanding of movement, timing, precision and musicality at a rate I didn't think was possible. So many lightbulb moments. The teachers are patient, articulate and FUN! I highly recommend this school of dance as you will not be disappointed!

Sanushka from The Secret Garden of Dance has a tireless, unwavering love, commitment and passion for what he does. A brilliant dancer, and a master of teachers. He possesses a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the art of dance. I’ve witnessed him transform students with no prior dance experience within minimal time, to coaching high end professional dancers seeking new heights with their dancing. This dance studio is none like any other here in Melbourne. With highly trained skilled staff, I find that I am challenged each week after every session. Thanks Sanu for sharing your time generously in our coaching sessions and in every class I’ve attended. So nurturing and patient for those of us that take a bit longer to get it, so informative and interesting on background of dances, such great staff Caroline & Simon helping instruct and making everyone feel welcome (though I did start off with Peter when you were away who was great). I love the community feel of all that come to classes at the studio and feel like I belong. Classes are such a great workout and I hate when I need to miss a class. FAQS
We recommend you wear active wear, casual attire and avoid clothes that are too tight or restricting. Some students come straight from work and others are in shorts and t-shirt. We also have bathrooms where you can get changed.
Recommended: Sneakers, trainers, walking shoes, flats, low heels with ankle support, Ballet flats, Ballroom and Latin dance shoes
Please avoid: Stiletto heels, heels with no ankle support, heavy boots, shoes with thick rubber soles, sandals/thongs/jandals/slip ons/flip flops!
Short answer: 1 hour
Our classes are typically 1 hour in duration, whether it’s a private or group class. We may start or end the class 5 minutes earlier to complete payments, make another booking or answer any questions.
