If you’re wondering whether you should come here for your wedding dance (or any other dance needs you have) JUST DO IT! Caroline helped me and my partner learn an amazing salsa for our wedding dance, and we managed to look pretty damn good for two people that couldn’t dance walking in there. We also had SO much fun and got along so well with Caroline, she’s a fabulous teacher and person! JUST DO IT!

We were a bit late in sending this review (serious procrastinators here), but we had to let everyone know how amazing our time was. The dance lessons were definitely one of the best highlights of our wedding prep. The dance turned out fantastic on the big day! The whole thing was a hit—we loved it, and so did our guests! Steph made us feel so comfortable, even though we were total beginners. We had such a blast learning with Steph, and we'll always remember the laughs and great banter. It felt more like hanging out with a friend than a teacher! Highly recommend Steph for anyone looking to learn or have fun with dance. Thank you for everything!

Caroline was professional, courteous and very willing to hear about the type of dance we wanted to coordinate. Sanushka and Amy then took us through our lessons and choreographed a wonderful routine that we are very excited to perform at our wedding. From our first lesson with Sanu, his experience and passion for dance and teaching were evident. We were always comfortable and every lesson was enjoyable. Sanu, Caroline and the team really invested a lot in our learning, and were so generous with their time and advice - they really cared about our performance as much as we did. And it paid off! The dance was the highlight of the wedding, our guests couldn't stop talking about it! We’re so grateful, we can’t recommend The Secret Garden of Dance highly enough!

My husband and I learned our first dance for our wedding at The Secret Garden of Dance. We left it quite late to start (we took our first lesson 2 weeks before the big day) and still Sanu managed to teach us a waltz (including a lunge, Cuban walk, zig zag and dip). He really cared about us and explained both the moves and enough of the history and philosophy for us to understand the dance. The big day turned out great and the crowd was impressed (particularly since I hadn’t previously been much of a dancer!). We highly recommend Sanu and The Secret Garden of Dance to anyone looking to learn to dance for a wedding or anything else.

February 20, 2022From the very beginning of our wedding planning journey, we knew that our first dance was something we really wanted to put time and effort towards. Sanushka and the team at The Secret Garden of Dance were incredible in always leading with our vision and story in creating something really special for us. Sanushka has a passion for both dance and teaching, meaning we didn’t just learn choreography, we got to try out different styles of dance, watch the instructors demonstrate their ideas and really workshop everything as a team. Our lessons were truly an unexpected highlight of the wedding planning process! We always looked forward to our time at the studio as it gave us an opportunity to learn something new together as well as to slow down and focus on each other, which often gets lost amidst the rush of planning a wedding. Our first dance was such a dream and Sanushka went above and beyond to make sure that on the big day, we felt confident to truly enjoy that moment in front of all of our loved ones.

April 11, 2021I tried learning salsa on and off for years and made very little progress to be able to dance socially. Salsa music sound like noise, and whatever I learn in class don’t stick. Until I met Sanushka; he broke the art down to a science for my analytical brain. The rest is history, I’m now a salsa social dancing superstar; and the girls can’t get enough of me. Just kidding LOL. Still a beginner but with new found enthusiasm to improve.

We recommend you wear active wear, casual attire and avoid clothes that are too tight or restricting. Some students come straight from work and others are in shorts and t-shirt. We also have bathrooms where you can get changed.
Recommended: Sneakers, trainers, walking shoes, flats, low heels with ankle support, Ballet flats, Ballroom and Latin dance shoes
Please avoid: Stiletto heels, heels with no ankle support, heavy boots, shoes with thick rubber soles, sandals/thongs/jandals/slip ons/flip flops!
Short answer: 1 hour
Our classes are typically 1 hour in duration, whether it’s a private or group class. We may start or end the class 5 minutes earlier to complete payments, make another booking or answer any questions.
